Renowned film and commercial director, the late Yasmin Ahmad, and cartoonist Datuk Lat were announced as among the six 1Malaysia icons by the Perak government at the launching of the state-level 1Malaysia With The People programme here tonight.
This year's Australian Malaysian Film Festival (AMFF) from Oct 4 to 7, at the Australian Centre for the Moving Image, Federation Square, here, pays tribute to the memory of Malaysian filmmaking legend Yasmin Ahmad.
Kosmo!, Thursday front-paged an apology to the family of the late iconic filmmaker, Yasmin Ahmad, for publishing a “salacious” article about her one day after her burial.
I was shocked by a scurrilous attack on the late Yasmin Ahmad by Kosmos, the tabloid published by the Utusan Melayu Group. It was not only in bad taste but thoroughly wicked coming one day after her burial.
Yasmin Ahmad left a legacy of her works in the film and advertisement arenas, thriving on the themes of love, family ties and comedy against the backdrop of multiracial Malaysia.
