A Christian woman whose eight compact discs (CDs) of Christian religious teachings containing the word "Allah" were confiscated by the Home Ministry, wants to cross-examine then Home Minister Tan Sri Syed Hamid Albar over the decision to confiscate the CDs.

The favourable decision on the non-Muslim religious societies in school is simply the result of the fear of a stronger backlash against the Barisan Nasional at the next general election, not because the MCA has any political clout and potency to pressure the Umno-dominated cabinet to comply with its request or demand.

The MCA must not compromise on this "Allah" issue, which involves the fundamemtal human, civil, and constitutional rights of the people. If it now shrinks from its responsibility to help preserve, protect, and promote the God-given rights of the people, then it can be sure that its days are numbered and the next general election will be its funeral ceremony.
