PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang said that PAS supporters club has made great efforts for the party great victory in the recent elections. He added that the club played an important role in winning over the supports from the non-Muslims.
He pointed out that the club clearly conveyed PAS political philosophy to non-Muslim to eliminate their misunderstandings towards PAS, and has successfully gained their support.
“For us, PAS supporters club is an important 'bridge' between PAS and non-Muslim.”
“The effect of the club is encouraging. Not only it improves the non-Muslims' support towards PAS, but some of them has also requested PAS to open up its membership to enable them to become the party members.”
Hadi Awang added that besides the club's contribution to PAS, the club has also bring the relationship between PAS and the non-Muslim candidates from PKR and DAP closer.
“The club members even sent the non-Muslim candidates to mosques or other Malay constituencies during the elections campaign for their campaigning and publicity activities.” (Sin Chew Daily)
