IPOH, MALAYSIA: DAP Buntong assemblyman A. Sivasubramaniam shocked the Perak coalition government by quitting from his party Monday (31 Mar) morning, but took a dramatic turn by retracting his resignation seven hours later.

Sivasubramaniam, who is Perak DAP assistant secretary, declared he had retracted his resignation in a press conference at 6pm held by party leaders.

He said it was a misunderstanding for his claim that state chief Ngeh Koo Ham had not fulfilled his promise of appointing two Indians assemblymen as state exco members.

Ngeh said DAP is not going to take any disciplinary action against Sivasubramaniam as it was just a misunderstanding. (Sin Chew Daily)
