Kedah Menteri Besar Azizan Abdul Razak said that PAS has actually considered giving one seat to DAP and two seats to PKR in the initial exco seat allocation.
“However, PAS had some misunderstanding in the initial stages. DAP won only one seat in Kedah and PAS also won only a seat in Penang, PAS was not given and exco seat in Penang although wanted to give DAP seat in Kedah.”
“If the Penang coalition government can allocate a seat to PAS, then Kedah PAS will also allocate a seat to DAP. I don't see it as an issue.”
“In fact, we are ready to give DAP a seat, but PKR has different views. Perhaps there have been some misunderstanding here. However, in the Kedah coalition government, the relationship between DAP and PAS is very good.”
He said PAS and DAP have formed the coalition governments in Perak and Selangor.
Central Policy and Strategic Planning Commission Chairman Lim Kit Siang made clear his stand after the elections to enable further cooperation between DAP and PAS.
Therefore, whether the only Kedah DAP state assemblyman, Lee Guan Aik becomes one of the exco members, is no longer a problem as Kedah exco members are appointed on yearly basis.
When BN ruled Kedah, there were two Chinese among the 10 exco members. However, the present exco team has only one Chinese from PKR, Tan Wei Shu. Azizan said he accept the recommended candidates from PKR. (Sin Chew Daily)
