The new Cabinet line-up has finally been announced.

The people have placed extraordinary attention and expectations on this new Cabinet, as it is the new starting point for BN government who has just gone through the biggest ever setback.

The new Cabinet has been reshuffled and many new faces can be seen in the Cabinet. It is so natural, and it has also shown the determination of Prime Minister to make great efforts to build a strong state.

The streamlined Cabinet have reduced the number by one-quarter. In the future, the burden of the Cabinet members would be heavier. We can predict that this Cabinet would face greater competition, greater challenges and greater tests. They must race against time and fulfill its promises as soon as possible. They must implement new measures to win over the people's heart. The new Cabinet must also compete with the five opposition state governments to allow the people to see who is the best.

One-party dominance political pattern has been broken. Malaysia has now entered into an era that the people can choose and compare.

“The people is the government's masters, but also its consumers”. This remark underlines the correctness that the people are the boss. Therefore, the immediate challenge the BN central government and five opposition state governments: how they should do to play the role of “government”. The people's choice is very clear: the government with poor performance should step down.

What is good government then?

Theoretically, the government must have respect freedom, democracy, rule of law, pluralism, tolerance, honesty, responsibility, efficiency and other basic elements. It may seem complicated but its ultimate goal is “to create happiness for the people”.

The people have given both the ruling and the opposition party an opportunity. However, they can change the government anytime. The future political situation is full of variables, with risks and opportunities come together. Therefore, each party must be aware and remember to serve the community.
