Malaysia: Ministers Are Required To Declare Property, Says PM

PUTRAJAYA, MALAYSIA: All Ministers and deputy ministers are required to declare their properties as it is essential for the people to know the assets they possess, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.

He said he will inform Cabinet members the deadline to declare their property during the Cabinet meeting Wednesday (19 Mar).

“I'm going to tell them in the meeting the country's future direction, as well as to let them know what they should do,” said Abdullah.

He also told reporters in the press conference that he will remind members of the Cabinet to perform and behave well to maintain integrity.

“I'll tell them what can be be done and what cannot be done, and how to manage their ministries well. They must bear in mind that they are appointed to serve the people,” he added. (Sin Chew Daily)
