Malaysia: No Taliban-style Government In Kedah

KEDAH, MALAYSIA: Menteri Besar Azizan Abdul Razak reassured the non-Muslims that there will be no Taliban-style government in Kedah.

He said only Islamic laws that are acceptable to all races will be implemented. The laws would only be implemented when the people fully understand about it.

He pledged at his office at Wisma Darulaman Thursday (13 Mar) that liquor and pork would not be forbidden in Kedah.

He added that the state government will try to understand the wishes of non-Muslims to ensure that his new policy will include the welfare of the non-Muslims.

He explained that the state government would not rush in implementing the new policy. The people, especially the non-Muslims need not to be afraid, as he will assure that the implementation of the new policy will also include the benefit of non-Muslims. He wants to implement a fair policy to all races. (Sin Chew Daily)
