Baharudin's death due to natural courses: coroner's court

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 14 (Bernama) -- The Coroner's Court today ruled that the death of taxi driver Baharudin Ahmad while participating in an illegal gathering on July 9 last year, to be due to natural causes.

Coroner Zulkpli Abdullah in his judgement said there was no evidence to show that force was used on the deceased or negligence on the part of any quarters that contributed to the death of Baharudin, 59.

The inquest which began on Jan 30 and ended on July 18 this year, saw 35 witnesses testifying, including Kuala Lumpur deputy police chief, SAC Datuk Amar Singh and forensic pathologist Dr Khairul Anuar Zainun.

The inquest to investigate Baharudin's death was assisted by deputy public prosecutors Kalmizah Salleh, Ahmad Ishrakh Saad, Henry Tan and Mohamed Shah Reza Noor Azman, while the family of the deceased was represented by lawyers Ahmad Jufliz Faiza and Patrick Das.
