KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 13 (Bernama) -- Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah and Raja Permaisuri Agong Tuanku Hajah Haminah received in audience with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince William and his wife, Catherine at Istana Negara here tonight.
The British royal couple later attended a royal banquet hosted in their honour in conjunction with their four-day visit to Malaysia on behalf of Queen Elizabeth II to mark her 60-year reign.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak and his wife, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and his wife, Puan Sri Noorainee Abdul Rahman also attended the banquet.
Also present were Information, Communications and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Dr Rais Yatim, Cabinet ministers, ambassadors, foreign delegates and dignitaries.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and the guests were entertained to cultural performances put up by Permata Seni Negara children.
Prince William and Catherine are expected to attend a special cultural performance at the Kuala Lumpur City Centre Park tomorrow morning before departing for a two-day visit to Sabah.
The royal couple will end their visit to Malaysia after visiting Danum Valley, a primary tropical rainforest in Sabah.
They are scheduled to leave for Solomon Islands on Sunday.
