TEMERLOH, Aug 19 (Bernama) -- Recipients of the National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN) Sponsorship Advanced Payment (SAP) have been reminded to cash their warrants before Sept 8.

PTPTN chairman Datuk Ismail Mohamad Said said the RM1,500 warrant was only valid for one month from the date of issuance on Aug 8 to Sept 8, 2012.

"Students can cash the warrants at any CIMB branches personally by presenting their Mykads. The warrants cannot be banked into a cheque deposit machine," he said.

Ismail said this at a ceremony to launch the Temerloh-level Road Safety and Crime Prevention Campaign at Temerloh toll plaza here yesterday.

Ismail, who is also the Kuala Krau member of Parliament, said as at July 31, 583,634 SAP warrants involving RM856.9 million had been redeemed by students.

In the September 2012 intake, 46,824 students were offered SAP involving an allocation of RM70.2 million and for Pahang state alone, 2,876 students were given the SAP amounting to RM4.3 million.

In this regard, Ismail reminded students to submit their PTPTN applications by the date set and should inform their respective institution's Student Affairs Division.
