KOTA BHARU, Aug 2 (Bernama) -- Kelantan Umno is to attempt to resolve several issues raised by the opposition before the next general election to show the people that these issues were brought up purely to garner votes.
Kelantan Umno Liaison Committee chairman Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed said Umno would resort to doing that in accordance with the country's laws.
"We will resolve every issue prudently because they involve legal aspects. We have the law courts which give all quarters the opportunity (to state their arguments)," he told reporters at a "makan colek" (seafood spread dinner) with the media attended by 50 media practitioners, here, last night.
On another matter, Mustapa said Umno members should support every candidate selected by the party leadership to contest in the next general election.
"We have to go into the next general election united because any disunity will make the task of capturing Kelantan difficult," he said.
Mustapa, who is the minister of international trade and industry, said Kelantan Umno was confident of capturing 23 of the 45 state seats and forming the next Kelantan government.
