SHAH ALAM, Feb 13 (Bernama) -- Police believe they have solved a kidnap case involving a 14-year old boy with the arrest of a 26-year-old suspect in Perak on Saturday.
Selangor CID chief SAC Mohd Adnan Abdullah said the suspect, believed to have kidnapped the victim on Feb 6, in Semenyih had contacted the family and demanded a RM50,000 ransom for his release.
He said after further investigations, police managed to track down the suspect before detaining him at about 10.30am on Feb 11 in Teluk Intan, Perak.
"We also seized a few items including a car, camera, sling bag, hand phone, wallet, ATM card, an identity card belonging to a woman and car keys.
"We believe we have solved this case and the suspect has been remanded until Feb 18," he told reporters here today adding that the victim was fine and unhurt.
Police had also seized what resembled a police uniform and a fake police identification card.
