KANGAR, Friday 24 December 2010 (Bernama) -- The number of hotel rooms in Perlis will increase next year with the completion of Hotel Seri Malaysia here, said Perlis Tourism Committee Chairman Ahmad Bakri Ali today.
He said the RM27.5 million hotel with a total of 150 rooms was expected to be operational in February.
Currently there was a total of 995 rooms at the three hotels in the state which was insufficient to meet the needs of tourists.
"With the completion of the Seri Malaysia Hotel, the number of rooms in Perlis will increase by another 150 rooms," he told reporters here today.
Meanwhile, the managing director of the Hotel Seri Malaysia Sdn Bhd chain, Zahriah Abd Kadir said the hotel in Perlis was the 20th in the Seri Malaysia chain.
