KUALA LUMPUR, Monday 12 July 2010 (Bernama) -- Home Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein said investigation papers into the death of 15-year-old, Aminulrasyid Amzah, has been submitted to the Deputy Public Prosecutor (DPP) for the next course of action in court.
"The question of whether the suspect was right or wrong, is under the jurisdiction of the court.
"So, it will not be right for the government to take any form of action before a decision is made by the court," he told Lim Kit Siang (DAP-Ipoh Timur) in Dewan Rakyat here today.
Lim had wanted to know why the government has yet to officially apologize for the death of Aminulrasyid who was shot by police in Shah Alam, and why the special panel that was set up to monitor the investigations was headed by a deputy minister instead of an open investigation.
Hishammuddin also said that he was happy with the investigations which was carried out in a transparent manner and completed in a short period of time.
The special panel monitored the investigations directly to ensure police carried out the investigations in a fair, transparent and efficient manner that was fair to all the involved parties.
Apart from monitoring investigations, the special panel also studied procedures used by police when using firearms, their operations procedures, duty, and made suggestions to improve some of the procedures, he said.
