It's just not the time for punishment yet

When seven Pakatan Rakyat senators were reassuring the people that the wave of party switching has ended, the four former PKR Members of Parliament (MPs) who have now become independent MPs solemnly vowed that they would not join any other political parties. They said that they would not be partial to any party. Instead, they would prioritise the people.

However, such a vow and confession were indeed too week to attract the people's attention, let alone to be persuasive.

Perhaps, these people used to have passion and they might also hate power before. They might embrace a little bit of democracy in the past but today, there are nothing left other than themselves.

PKR created a miracle during the 8 March general elections but it has been trapped in a chaos after the political tsunami. Some elected MPs and state assemblymen have slowly revealed their true faces.

We must admit that despite the improvement in terms of both quantity and quality, crises are still lurking in PKR, a party that was established 10 years ago because of Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

When PKR was first established, it was not about the noble democratic ideas. However, it attracted a lot of people as it stressed on anti-hegemony and anti-corruption.

These people came from different camps, regions and racial groups. They were having different motives, ideologies and stands. But they shared a common goal – opposing BN or some BN leaders. Thus, they joined together.

Some people of the group were filled with revolutionary enthusiasm, some were full of political ideals but it was undeniable that some were just frustrated and waiting for an opportunity to gain benefits.

To put it bluntly, many PKR candidates of the 8 March general elections have just accidentally turned into YBs overnight. They were lack of qualities of elected representatives and they were not psychologically prepared to serve the people. However, they just happened to become MPs, state assemblymen and even state executive members.

This is why, from time to time before and after elections, some Pakatan Rakyat representatives, particularly those from PKR, will turn into political frogs. They make sensational remarks to stir up others and after the chaos is created, they either resign or being sacked.

Yes, there are indeed such kind of people who have no sense of shame and just trample on justice. Only these people, who have no credibility at all, will brazenly ignore public opinions. They say that they prioritise the people but in fact, they never care about the people.

These people will never dare to resign from their positions to once again face the people's decision as they are clear enough and are afraid that the people will cast them aside.

These people are very pathetic as their hearts are actually filled with low self-esteem and anxiety. The more they talk "righteously", the more they feel "indefensible". The more they pretend to be "casual and unrestrained", the more they are actually "panic-striken"! (By LIM MUN FAH/Translated by SOONG PHUI JEE/Sin Chew Daily)
