What were you doing when you were 16? Perhaps playing computer games was your main daily activity instead of thinking about your goal in life?
A Form Four student, Huang Ying Hang is way different from other teenagers his age, as he has successfully established the record of earning RM10,000 profit within only three months through web-designing.
He set up a class recently and is believed to be among the youngest lecturers in Malaysia!
When Sin Chew Daily stepped into the classroom, Huang was coaching twelve participants how to make profit by selling design websites to customers in his fluent English. He did not hesitate to share his experiences with the learners.
Understanding the business model
Studying in Chung Ling High School, Huang said he was indeed influenced by his father who owns a computer shop since he was in primary school. Since then he has started to study a wide range of incentives as well as business books in a bid to better understand the real business model as he wants to build a successful business on the Internet.
In 2007, while other teenagers were still addicted to online games, Huang began to design his first blog on the topic of mathematics and it was successfully sold at the price of US$38. Following that, he started a busy schooling life while carrying out various experiments. Finally he came up with a new operating system called "Sifu Profit System."
"In simple terms, the system is about the information on market researches that need to be done before a business could be started, such as researching the hottest topics and customer needs. Then the system will provide you a guideline on solving their problems and designing a relevant website or blog.
So long as the needs of the customers are satisfied, you will be able to solve the problem and can command a good price for your website copyright. But the condition is that you must first handle the basic knowledge of computing and networking.
Gaining experience through experiments
Although it appears to be only a simple system, it requires a lot of hard work and Huang has to study a large number of business books on successful corporations plus countless of tests in order to gain the experience and succeed in his endeavour.
After countless of failures, he finally sold his website to worldwide organisations last June, August and November during school holidays by earning RM10,000 in only three months.
His customers base spreads across the world, including Europe and the United States. He has helped design nearly 30 websites for his customers.
He concluded that his achievement has indeed helped him a lot in his academic performance, especially in commerce and accounting, as they share the same theory as well as principle. (Translated by LIM LIY EE/Sin Chew Daily)
