SEREMBAN, March 13 (Bernama) -- Rasah Umno Division Chief Datuk Hasim Rusdi has been appointed the new Negeri Sembilan Umno liaison secretary.

Hasim, 52, is also the state rural development, consumer affairs and public amenities committee chairman as well as Labu assemblyman.

Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Datuk Mohamad Hasan, who is also state Umno liaison chief, said Hasim would be replacing Datuk Azman Hassan following his resignation due to health problems.

Mohamad, who was met after launching the 17th Negeri Sembilan National Silat Association here, said Bagan Pinang assemblyman Tan Sri Mohd Isa Abdul Samad had been appointed as the new state Umno information chief.

Mohd Isa is replacing Datuk Seri Dr Rais Yatim, who is Information Communication and Information Minister, who relinquished the post because of commitments to the ministry.
