Nizar makes several demands to Perak government

IPOH, Feb 9 (Bernama) -- Former Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin called on the state government under the leadership of Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir to fulfil several demands made by the opposition.

Nizar said the opposition state assemblymen held a meeting tonight during which it made several demands to the state government.

He said they wanted the state government to allow them to use community halls for their activities.

They should not be barred from attending the state action committee and the district action committee's meetings to enable them to give their input, he told reporters here tonight.

"We appeal to the state government to provide us with a financial allocation to enable us to carry out activities for the benefit of the people," he added.

Nizar said the opposition would work with the state government in the interest of the people.

He said although he accepted the Federal Court's decision that Dr Zambry was the rightful menteri besar, he was saddened with it and would study the matter before deciding the next course of action.
