KUALA TERENGGANU, Nov 23 (Bernama) -- Motorists who are trapped in flood waters are strongly advised to immediately exit their vehicles in such a situation.
"We fear the car will be swept away by strong currents and endanger the passengers, should they fail to get out," said Terengganu CID chief ACP Mohd Faurzi Abduri.
He also reminded flood victims to ensure that important documents and valuables were kept safely, especially those who had to be evacuated.
He said documents such as land grants, passports and certificates should be stored carefully, eventhough they were brought along to the relief centres.
"This also goes for jewellery, it must be looked after so they don't become victims of those who aren't responsible," he told reporters when met at his office here today.
Currently, all districts in Terengganu, except for Kuala Terengganu are hit by a second wave of floods with almost 9,000 victims evacuated.
