KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 21 (Bernama) -- Army personnel should emulate past heroes upholding the country's peace and prosperity, said Deputy Army Chief Lt Gen Datuk Zulkifeli Mohd Zin.

He said with perseverance, each personnel would help to make the force more professional, versatile and respected.

"The peace we enjoy now is a result of the sacrifices made by warriors in the past, so now the current team must be ready to sacrifice for the organisation," he said at the passing out parade of a batch of 60 new army officers at the Sungai Besi army camp, here today.

At this officer graduation ceremony, Capt Salwana Arsad, 26, was named the best overall student, Capt Mohammad Zulkhairy Chin, 25, as the best military skills student, while Capt Nor Hashimah Muhammad, 26, as the best military studies student.
