KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 19 Nov (Bernama) -- The Meteorological Department has issued a first category warning on strong winds and rough seas with strong northeasterly winds of 40 to 50kmph and rough seas of up to 3.5metres over waters off Samui (Kelantan and Terengganu), Reef North, Layang-Layang, Palawan and North Sabah (Kudat), expected until Sunday.

The condition is dangerous to small crafts, recreational sea activities and sea sports, the department said in a statement today.

It also said that the coastal areas of the East Coast of the peninsula (Kelantan, Terengganu and Pahang) were vulnerable to sea level rise, a condition expected to continue until tomorrow.

The department also issued a second category warning on strong winds and rough seas of strong northeasterly winds of 50 to 60kmph with waves of up to 4.5 metres over waters off Condore.

The condition is dangerous to all shipping and coastal activities, including fishing and ferry services.
