MELAKA, Nov 2 (Bernama) -- Former Federal CID deputy director of strategic planning SAC 1 Datuk Mohd Rodwan Mohd Yusof has been appointed as the new Melaka police chief.
His appointment is effective today.
He takes over from SAC 1 Datuk Mazlan Mansor, who has been tranferred to Bukit Aman (Federal police headquarters) to take over Mohd Rodwan's position.
The duties handing over ceremony between them took place at the Melaka police contingent headquarters here and was witnessed by by Bukit Aman's training division deputy director, DCP Datuk Mortadza Nazarene.
Speaking to reporters afterwards, Mohd Rodwan, 52, said he would strive to bring the crime rate in Melaka further down and look after the welfare of the Melaka police force.
