Ethical fashion label Edun, the brainchild of activist duo Bono and Ali Hewson, has launched a new line of organic t-shirts to benefit the Congo projects of the War Child foundation.

Designed by artist Jo Ratcliffe, the t-shirts show animals printed in white on black background portraying the "untamed spirit of African wildlife," with shoppers being able to choose between a roaring lion, leopard or zebra. Ratcliffe said: "We wanted to create images a little like large 80's animal print tees, but to keep it as modern as we could."

Fifteen percent of proceedings will go to an initiative by the War Child charity that protects children in African war zones.

The range, limited to 800 t-shirts, is currently available at the Selfridge's department store in London and launches at New York's Saks Fifth Avenue and online on October 29.

A making-of can be watched on the website of Dazed & Confused magazine (dazeddigital.com), which collaborated on the project.
