Negeri MB hits out at opposition for spreading lies

SEREMBAN, Oct 21 (Bernama) -- Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan today hit out at the opposition for lying that an ailing Barisan Nasional (BN) assemblyman was dead, just because they were clamouring for another by-election.

He said Johol assemblyman Datuk Roslan Md Yusof was on a month-long leave to undergo physiotherapy at the Kuala Lumpur Hospital after suffering a slipped disc following a fall during a badminton game three months ago.

"I just met him and he is undergoing treatment under an orthopedic specialist at the Kuala Lumpur Hospital, and his condition is stable," he told reporters after the state executive council meeting.

Mohamad said the opposition had been spreading lies about Roslan, saying that he had died while undergoing treatment in Singapore, that he was suffering from cancer and that he had handed in his resignation letter.

He said whenever an elected representative fell ill, the opposition would rejoice that a by-election was going to be held.

He also said that the opposition were also waiting for a by-election in Lenggeng because assemblyman Mustaffa Salim was facing a corruption charge.
