Vietnam reports 63 more A(H1N1) cases

HANOI: The Ministry of Health (MoH) reported 63 new infections of the A(H1N1) influenza, bringing the total number of cases to 1,363 nationwide with two deaths as of 5 p.m. on Friday.

Of the total, 1,024 cases have recovered and been discharged from hospital, with the remaining 399 are under quarantine and being treated. All are in stable condition, Vietnam News Agency (VNA) reported.

According to Head of the MoH』s Department of Preventive Health and Environment Nguyen Huy Nga, the ministry is considering retooling its supervision of the epidemic so that it is tailored in a more suitable way for each locality.

The super flu is now spreading into the community, thus, the ministry has warned people to limit gathering together with other people to curb the disease transmission.

The European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) reported that by Friday, 221,829 people have been confirmed to have contracted the A(H1N1) virus in 168 countries, resulting in 1,906 deaths. (Bernama)
