PAS keeps harping on police presence

KUALA KRAI: After likening the heavy police presence here to the "US invasion of Iraq", PAS kept harping on the matter ahead of the Manik Urai by-election on Tuesday.

Kelantan PAS election director Abdul Fattah Haron said the heavy police presence in the hamlet was causing inconvenience to the public.

"We have raised the matter with the authorities but there has been no change," he told a press conference at Manik Urai PAS' election operations room.

Some 3,000 police personnel have been mobilised to the state constituency to ensure nothing untowards happens during the run up to the election.

Attempts by Bernama to get comments on the matter from Kelantan police chief Datuk Abdul Rahim Hanafi proved unsuccessful. (Bernama)
