KUALA LUMPUR: After breaking the record of highest single-day increase in confirmed A(H1N1) cases yesterday, Malaysia today (2 July) confirms another record 48 new cases, bringing the total number to 244.

Health minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai said 40 of the newly confirmed cases were imported while the remaining eight locally transmitted.

He also said 36 of the latest victims were Malaysians, the other 12 foreigners, including 4 Indonesians, 2 Singaporeans, 2 Filipinos, 2 Australians, 1 Chinese and 1 Italian.

Of the total 244 cases confirmed so far, 206 have been imported while 38 locally transmitted. (MySinchew)
