Former law minister Zaid Ibrahim has today joined opposition party PKR. This was announced by PKR leader Anwar Ibrahim at the partys extraordinary congress in Bangi,Selangor Saturday.
Zaid was previously the de facto law minister who quit both is post and Umno membership last year after a fallout with the party leadership.
Anwar said that Zaid’s membership in PKR will help boost the party because “he is known for his bravery in defending human rights and the independence of judiciary".
He also said that Zaid has a good relationship with DAP and PAS and his decision to join PKR it will help strengthen Pakatan Rakyat. (MySinchew)
