GENEVA (AFP) - The World Health Organisation said the number of confirmed swine flu cases has reached 7,520, rising more than one thousand in 24 hours. 65 people have died from the virus.
WHO said research by experts suggests the swine flu virus is so contagious it will probably spread to new, so far unaffected regions.
"Their work also suggests that the virus is transmissible enough that we will expect to see continued community level outbreaks and regional spread," said acting WHO assistant director-general Keiji Fukuda. (AFP)
