Ong Glad Chua Shares View On Monitoring Bureau

SHAH ALAM: MCA president Datuk Seri Ong Tee Kiat is delighted that his deputy, Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek, shares his view on forming the party's government policy monitoring bureau.

He said Dr Chua, who heads the bureau, was being positive in having the people's aspirations in mind, rather than being obsessed with seeking a ministership.

"I am glad he shares my view as he was made to chair this committee with special consideration... certainly, having the people's aspirations in mind would be something more positive than being obsessed with personal political gain, in particular in relation to a ministership," he said.

Ong was commenting on Dr Chua's remark that the bureau would also monitor MCA ministers.

He was speaking to reporters today, following a ceremony to name a street in the 29ha digital township i-City here, as Jalan Multimedia.

Being the immediate past health minister before the cabinet reshuffle after the March 8 general election, Ong noted that Dr Chua was in a better position to tell the MCA on the problems confronting the party and its members as most MCA ministers were relatively new. (Bernama)
