The Brussels-based International Federation of Journalists (IFJ) said in a press release today (10 Oct) said it welcomed a decision by Malaysia's High Court to release unconditionally online journalist Raja Petra Kamarudin, who was detained for two months under Malaysia's draconian Internal Security Act (ISA). The court ruled his detention was unlawful.
Raja Petra, who has run the popular political website Malaysia Today for two years, was arrested on September 12, and released on November 7. The detention order was signed by Home Minister Syed Hamid Albar. (MySinchew)
