PENANG: Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng said he hoped Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi would be able to complete his three main missions in five months before stepping down in March next year.
Lim who welcomes the power transition process, described the missions as a reward to the people who had supported Abdullah during his tenure.
"We hope he can carry out the missions listed out well in the interest of the people in the country and their wellbeing," he told reporters after opening the Korea Food Fiesta at Gurney Plaza here Friday (10 Oct).
The five-day fiesta began yesterday on the theme "2008 Taste and Zest of Korea". It was in conjunction with the 50th anniversary of diplomtic relations between Malaysia and Korea.
Abdullah has listed out three main initiatives that he will carry out before handing over the premiership to his successor in March 2009. (Bernama)
