PETALING JAYA: From the information available to Sin Chew Daily, MCA Youth has arrived at a consensus list.

The deputy chairman post will still be reserved for the state of Perak, and will be contested by the newly elected state chairman Mah Hang Soon.

As for the other leader earlier said to be keen on the deputy chief post, MCA Youth assistant chief secretary Chai Kim Sen will now go for the number three post--chief secretary.

From the information available, state chairmen and leaders held the second round of negotiations on Wednesday under the moderation of chief secretary Wee Ka Siong, in order to strike an accord on the list of candidates for major posts.

It has been learned that the four candidates vying for vice chairman posts are Yoo Wei How from Ulu Langat, Selangor, Yit Lee Kok from Negeri Sembilan, Yong Chen Leong from Sabah and Tan Kok Liang from Kedah.

Yoo, who is also the organising secretary, was earlier said to be keen to represent Selangor in capturing the post of chief secretary. However, after the negotiations, it is found to be better for assistant chief secretary Chai Kim Sen to run for the post of chief secretary, while the deputy chairman post will be reserved for Perak, for which Mah Hang Soon is the only MCA Youth state assemblyman.

Ling Hee Leong not seeking re-election

Meanwhile, the incumbent MCA Youth deputy chairman Datuk Ling Hee Leong will most likely not seek re-election. It is understood that Mah has made up his mind to run for the deputy chief post after Ling said he was not keen to seek re-election.

Although Ling did not attend Wednesday's meeting, some Youth leaders offered their opinions on Ling's intention of not seeking re-election.

After being defeated in the battle for Perak branch chairman, Ling has said he would not run for the Youth chairman post. However, he did not rule out the possibility of defending his deputy chief post.
