Guan Eng Happy WIth Kok's Release

PENANG: DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng is happy that the police had decided to release Seputeh Member of Parliament Teresa Kok Friday (19 Sept) after finding that there was no longer any reason to detain her.

Lim, who is also Penang Chief Minister, again pointed out that Kok should not have been detained under the Internal Security Act (ISA).

"The DAP welcomes Teresa's release and she should not have been detained in the first place," he told reporters at a media conference, here today.

Kok, who is also the Kinrara State Assemblyman, had been detained under Section 73(1) of the Internal Security Act 1960 on 12 Sept.

She had been investigated on suspicion of being involved in matters that jeopardised national security. (Bernama)
