Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak is very busy every day and he is not a romantic husband and holds no surprises for his wife. But he will sometimes praise his wife, said Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor.

"When I'm beautiful, he will praise me but when I gain weight, I wouldn't hope for his mercy not to criticise me," she said.

She revealed that during their special occasions, such as birthdays and anniversaries, she and her children will first ask for Najib's opinion and to celebrate his way. They will not create any surprises for him.

She said with a smile, "We want to give him a surprise but he is too busy. If he suddely fails to turn up after we have spent time and effort to spring a surprise, it would be us that are being surprised. Therefore, it is better not to court on giving him a surprise party."

She added that her husband always cancels family dates because of emergencies. They have been mentally prepared for this and they will try their best to meet his schedule.

Meanwhile, Rosmah said her children spent most of their time abroad nowadays and thus, she always goes for dinners with her husband. But when their children are back, they will chat and joke together.

"Najib looks serious all the time but when he is with the children, he is very good at joking with them. He is not a haughty father at all," she said.

She added that her son has the same sense of humour as his father. She said her son, who is currently studying Chinese as his minor in University of Washington, often shares interesting episodes with her. They are just like ordinary families that enjoy family fun through small happinesses. (Sin Chew Daily)
