SAPP Youth Chief Quits

SANDAKAN: Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) Youth chief and Elopura assemblyman Au Kam Wah Thursday (18 Sept) announced that he quit the party with immediate effect, after the SAPP supreme council decided to pull the party out of Barisan Nasional (BN) Wednesday (17 Sept).

Au said with that, he was now an independent people's representative and had no intention of joining another political party soon.

When making the announcement at his office here, he said his resignation letter had been sent to the SAPP headquarters in Kota Kinabalu Thursday.

"It is the time for me to stay calm and go back to my constituency to serve my constituents and supporters there.

"I made this decision as I need to be with the people there and hear their views, comments and feelings about the matter," said Au who was one of those who founded SAPP in 1994. (Bernama)
