PETALING JAYA: Four PKR leaders will leave for Taiwan on Friday to meet BN backbenchers currently on a study tour in Taiwan.
The four leaders are: Strategy chief cum MP for Machang Saifuddin Nasution Ismail, MP for Kuantan Fuziah Salleh, information chief Tian Chua and central committee member Low Chee Chong.
When contacted by Sin Chew Daily, Tian Chua said party advisor Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim was unable to personally go to Taiwan to meet the MPs because of some important things to attend to.
He said they were now making arrangements for flight tickets and accommodation. If flight tickets are available, they may fly to Taiwan on Friday.
"It is not important whether we can meet the MPs we want to meet. The important thing is that if we go, there will be hope."
Chua said they would return by 15 September.
Meanwhile, BN Backbenchers Club chairman Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing said some MPs would return to Malaysia on 14 September to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival, but he declined to reveal the exact number. (Translated by DOMINIC LOH/Sin Chew Daily)
