Sarawak MPs Will Not Join Pakatan Rakyat - Uggah Embas

SUNGAI PETANI: Sarawak members of parliament (MPs) from Barisan Nasional (BN) will not cross over to Pakatan Rakyat by 16 Sept to
form a new government.

Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu Sarawak (PBB) senior vice-president Datuk Douglas Uggah Embas said the new government touted by Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) advisor Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim would not happen.

"I do not believe it will happen and all Sarawak MPs from BN are confident with the BN leadership in spearheading the state development," he told reporters after visiting the Sungai Muda flood mitigation project here Thursday (11 Sept).

Uggah Embas who is also Natural Resources and Environment Minister said BN MPs have full confident in the Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi leadership and there was no reason why they should jump ship.

Sarawak has 31 MPs, 30 of them from BN while another from the DAP. (Bernama)
