Bomoh King to clash with Zahid in Bagan Datuk

PETALING JAYA, Apr 17 (MySinchew) -- The following are some of the highlights of the 14trh general elections for the day:

"BOMOH KING" IBRAHIM Mat Zin announced today that he would contest Bagan Datuk parliamentary seat in Perak as an independent candidate against deputy prime minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

The 68-year-old self-proclaimed Seni Silat Gayung Ghaib Malaysia president said although he was born in Teluk Intan, he chose to stand in Bagan Datuk because he knew many people there, in particular his martial art students who promised to support him.

AKMAL NASIR, THE assistant of PKR vice president Rafizi Ramli, will contest the Johor Bahru parliamentary seat against BN's incumbent representative Tan Sri Shahrir Samad.

It was earlier said that DAP's Lim Kit Siang had wanted to swap the seat with PKR. However, several PKR leaders confirmed with Sin Chew Daily that there were no talks on seat swapping between the two parties.

LIM GUAN ENG announced at a Pakatan Harapan rally on Monday night that Nga Kor Ming would contest Teluk Intan parliamentary seat against Gerakan Rakyat's president Datuk Seri Mah Siew Keong.

Lim also said Nga would be made a cabinet minister if Pakatan Harapan wins the 14th general elections.

PH chairman Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad was unable to attend the rally due to traffic congestion in Bidor.

DAP'S INCUMBENT SENAI state assemblywoman Wong Shu Qi will contest the Kluang parliamentary seat. She will be the first female electoral candidate in Kluang after a lapse of 19 years.
