I won't apologize: Nazri

  • "There was this saying Kuok might want to topple the government and let the Chinese take over. As a Malay leader, I must defend the government."

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 27 (MySinchew) -- Tourism minister Datuk Seri Mohd Nazri Abdul Aziz said he would not apologize to Robert Kuok, arguing that he was only defending the government.

"I was attacking Robert Kuok, not the Chinese community. It was said that he wanted to overthrow the government.

"I was having lunch with other Chinese businessmen and they said they had no problem doing business here.

"There was this saying Kuok might want to topple the government and let the Chinese take over. As a Malay leader, I must defend the government."

Nazri also said after the articles were published, Kuok chose not to respond or deny.

"The Malay society might think it was true and so I must react."
